Please forgive me for the sorrow, for leaving you in fear For the dreams we had to silence, that´s all they´ll ever be Still I´ll be the hand that serves you Though you´ll not see that it is me...
Oh, there is no DOUBT--you KNOW how to do FEATHERS!!!! It's especially obvious here, with it inked!
Do you ever work in charcoal?

Thank you Hm...Charcoal...I worked with it once a *very* long time ago in High School, though I haven't had any recent experience with it, I still remeber how to do it a bit. Have any suggestions in mind?

Well, mostly I was just thinking about the higher contrast you'd get with charcoal. The pencil sketches are lovely--but aren't as dramatic as they could be, because of the pale pencil work. I was just thinking of charcoal as giving you more contrast...while still being pencil.
I was also thinking...while looking at your pen and ink work, how very interesting it would be to see you doing some thick and thin linework--the sort of thing you get from inking with a Crow Quill pen, for instance: [link] . I don't know if you're familiar with ~MrEEE's work (I know--it's QUITE different from your style! ), but she does lovely pen and ink work--and really works the whole thick/thin thing--as here: [link] , or as in others in her gallery: [link] .
I would never presume to tell ANY other artist how to do their art--as art is so VERY personal!!!--but I do think it'd be interesting to see you giving either of those a try. Your work is so very rich, and detailed--and I think that might add even more depth to what you're doing. (Or not! You never know until you try something! )
I've never done real pen and ink, myself--just thick/thin linework built up through fine point pens...but the few times I've worked with charcoal, I've sort of felt like it gave me a whole new perspective on my art. (I just couldn't keep it up, because the feel of the charcoal creeped me out. )
(It also might be interesting to see you trying to ink your work with a brush...but I'd imagine that would take a LOT of work, to get any good at it. Seems like a Crow Quill would be easier to control, right of the bat, )
Just kind of thinking out loud...in the end, the artist always knows best, what's right for their work!

Ohhm what interesting ideas ^^ I'm always up to learn a new tequnique or two, since I'm always in the process of learning ^^ Thank you much for showing me those :3
Its funny you should bring up charcoal, because yesterday morning I bought a little artists kit for the 2h pencils in it, and I just noticed it also included 3 different types of charcoal pencil! lol
I actually used to do pen and ink work in high school as well with water colors over it. I still have some of my quill pens around somewhere..I might give them a try again since I have *alot* more patience for inking than I used to when I was younger ^^
Thank you for your thoughts! Its so rare around here to get someone who gives insightful suggestions

Well, now--that IS what I call a coincidence!!! I think it's a sign, and you should start playing around with the charcoals right away!
As for the pen and ink--that's GREAT that you've already done it, and still have some supplies!!! I bet you'd come to it with a whole new perspective! (And don't you just *drool* over =mree's lines??? I'm not much of a one for overly cute things, like she draws...but I keep watching her, because I LOVE her pen and ink work--it just knocks me out.
I'm so pleased you enjoyed the suggestions! Sometimes just hearing someone else talk can get your creative juices flowing in unexpected ways... Here's looking forward to seeing some of your experimentations!
