This is another one I did at work with just a cheap ballpoint pen, worked a double shift yesterday and got -really- bored. Please forgive the anatomy errors, specially in Widdershins face. I didn't have a pencil sketch underneath or the ability to erase beyond fixing a few things with white out. The rest got edited in photoshop. Excuse also my half assed background.

Also ignore the fact that hes holding the child in an anatomically impossible but sort of...interesting...way. its hard to tell how hes doing it it unless your the one who drew it, so I'll attempt to explain. The arm of the hand holding the scythe is supporting the childs backside, while the left arm is bent and its hand resting on the childs back, whith the scythe arm crossed over and infront of it. Odd? yes. But Widdershins is odd, and i found the position slightly elegant...

The Child happened by accident because I fucked up Widdershins chin, and corrected it, but instead of removing the too large bend, it reminded me of the curve of a wing, so I decided to draw baby Wen curled up in his fathers arms. The story behind this peice (which I thought up as I was doing it, because Widdershins isn't exactly the cuddly type and would really need a -good- reason for it) is this:

The adult Wen has been murdered, his body desecrated and wings torn to shreads by the people who have hunted himself and his mother all of their lives for being involved with Widdershins. Widdershins appears on the scene before they get a chance to kill Celia as well, but by the time he is there Wen is already dead, his mother crouched and weeping over his mangled body. Widdershins, posessed by a rage he had never known in his existance, slaughters every man, woman and child of the village the murderers came from, in promise that he will find them and destroy them in the most painful way possible.

But it dosn't change the fact that his son is still dead. Celia, knowing Widdershins can give life to the dead, begs Widdershins to take the mortal part from Wen and return him to life as a Wybren. Yet, because Wen's soul is already gone, Widdershins cannot bring him back unless he makes the journey to retreive his soul...

And so, moving Widdershins (or bakwards) in time, he must pursuade the Celia of the past to entrust baby Wen to his keeping, not able to explain that it is to bring his soul in its still living state forwards in time to be merged with his adult body, and bring her son back to life...

Widdershins and ll respective charachters belong to ME. Steal, and you get his scythe in your gut.

thank you ^^ I love him too, hes one of my absolute favorite to draw ^^

Widdershins is the king of a species known as the Wybren, which I made up ^^ If you would like to draw one, i may be having a competition for doing so in the near future. ^^ But If you'd like to draw one in the mean time, its ok. Just give me credit for the race in the desciption of the peice :3 Your art style would certainly go with them. ^^
